Rakesh Radhakrishnan, Technology to Market Advisor, United States Department of Energy
Dr. Rakesh Radhakrishnan currently serves as a Technology to Market Advisor at the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) for the US Department of Energy. Dr. Radhakrishnan co-developed the COOLERCHIPS program with a focus on maximizing the market impact of technologies funded under the program. At ARPA-E, he has also supported technology commercialization efforts for the distributed generation, additive manufacturing, electrified aviation and artificial intelligence portfolio. Dr. Radhakrishnan spent several years managing energy research programs at RTX Technologies Research Center. He then worked as a strategy consultant at Guidehouse (formerly Navigant) and Thomson Reuters, supporting a variety of private and public sector clients across the energy sector. Prior to joining ARPA-E, he worked at Saudi Aramco as a strategy and business development where he negotiated joint venture deals, supported senior executives in the management of power investments, and spearheaded the launch of a technology innovation program. There he also played a key role in establishing the GCC Lab, the first of its kind testing, inspections and certification laboratory for power systems in the Middle East. Radhakrishnan holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech, an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University, and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia. He has published several peer reviewed technical papers in the field of heterogeneous catalysis and holds six patents.
