David Sassano, Owner, AXO Architects
David Sassano is the owner of AXO Architects, in Northern Virginia. He has designed several million square feet of data centers, ranging in size from 4MW to 100MW. While his firm has focused primarily on data centers and mission critical buildings since 2014, they have a wide range of design experience. Mr. Sassano holds that all design is essentially creative problem solving. In the design of a data center, that creativity is applied so that the buildings housing our data are efficient, effective, economical, and elegant.
Mr. Sassano is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. After graduating, he spent 9 years in New York City. He then moved back to his hometown of South Bend IN., where he raised his family and had his own practice. In 2009 he moved to Northern Virginia. He Joined Herring and Trowbridge Architects in 2013, acquired sole ownership upon the retirement of David Herring in 2016, and changed the name to AXO Architects in 2020.
