Bryan Rothamel, Economic Development Director, Culpeper County
Bryan Rothamel, CEcD, serves as Culpeper County’s Economic Development Director, leading the county’s business expansion and attraction strategy with a focus on data center growth. Since joining the county in 2021, he has helped expand permitted data center space from under 700,000 sq. ft. to more than 10 million sq. ft. He also oversees the Culpeper Tech Zone, aligning data center investment with workforce development, small business support, and community engagement. Bryan was recognized on Virginia Business’ 40 Under 40 list in 2025, earned the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) credential in 2024, and was honored as the Virginia Economic Developers Association Rising Star in 2022. He is a graduate of the OU Economic Development Institute and High Point University. He currently serves on the Foundation First Board of Directors and previously served on the Virginia Economic Developers Association Board of Directors and the Virginia Career Works–Piedmont Region Workforce Development Board. Prior to joining Culpeper County, he led economic development efforts in Fluvanna County, Virginia. Bryan lives in Central Virginia with his wife and two daughters.
