Christopher G Morris, State Data Economy Liaison and Director of the Data Economy Office, State of West Virginia
In August 2025, Governor Morrisey appointed Christopher G. Morris as West Virginia’s first State Data Economy Liaison and Director of the Data Economy Office. In this role, Morris serves as the primary point of contact for developing the state’s data centers and microgrids, coordinating efforts between industry and government.
With over 20 years of executive experience, Morris previously held leadership roles at Citynet and West Virginia American Water. His public sector background includes serving as State Tax Commissioner and Deputy Cabinet Secretary for the Department of Revenue. A Charleston resident, Morris is a proven consensus-builder dedicated to West Virginia's economic growth.
