Nick Gmitter, CFD Associate Director, DLB Associates
Nick is a mechanical engineer with a specialized focus on data center cooling design. With over 18 years of experience, he has contributed to hundreds of mission-critical projects, from compact IT closets to some of the world's largest data centers. His expertise spans nearly every cooling and heat rejection technology, including air- and water-cooled chillers, DX, refrigerant-based, and evaporative systems. He is a strong advocate for advanced analysis methods—CFD, hydraulic modeling, and energy simulation—using them to virtually evaluate and refine designs before construction begins. Nick has presented at ASHRAE, contributed to technical paper development, and actively mentors peers in pushing the limits of high-density, AI-driven facility design.
