Mauro Atalla, Ph.D., senior vice president and chief technology and sustainability officer at Trane Technologies, leads engineering and technology, product management excellence and innovation, and sustainability for Trane Technologies, a global climate innovator. Mauro leads an organization of engineers committed to delivering energy-efficient technologies and solutions at scale, reducing energy use, saving cost and powering sustainable performance. His team is transforming energy management and sustainability in buildings, industry, data centers and transport. Mauro is leading the development of state-of-the-art thermal management solutions for the most advanced hyperscale and colocation data center architectures with a focus on energy and performance, sustainability and future-readiness. With a distinguished career spanning over 26 years in the industrial sector, Mauro Atalla, Ph.D., is an accomplished professional with significant roles in both the aerospace and buildings industries, leading large engineering organizations and infusing innovation across a broad range of technical disciplines and product lines. Prior to Trane Technologies, Mauro led engineering and technology at Collins Aerospace Systems, spearheading strategic planning, advancing technology development and ensuring excellence in product safety and cybersecurity. Mauro holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Duke University. He has been recognized as an ASME Fellow for his significant contributions to the field and was awarded the 2018 Graduate Alumni of the Year award by Virginia Tech.
