South African born, Lee Smith is the founder of DataCenterDNA LLC, a specialist boutique consulting firm based in Northern Virginia. Lee has more than 30 years data center industry experience, ranging from planning, design, commissioning and integration, to infrastructure services management, software engineering and operations. His involvement in strategy and operations consulting and training, especially in lesser-served and more challenging markets, gives him a unique, no-nonsense perspective within the global data center industry, providing insight around the challenges, opportunities, implications and solutions with regard to data center establishment, sustainability and growth. Lee enjoys sharing his knowledge and insight and relishes learning more and collaborating with others. He holds a number of professional accreditations and also owns a data center consulting firm in South Africa. When his schedule permits, he enjoys mountain biking to blow off some steam.
