Joe Prisco is a Senior Technical Staff Member (STSM) in IBM Systems. Joe is presently the chair of the IBM Development Power Council. Joe is the technical owner of the physical planning information used by IBM clients to layout, design, and build data centers, as well as the power profile chief test engineer responsible for compliance to worldwide energy laws, programs such as ENERGY STAR, and standards. Additionally, Joe is the principal rack power distribution architect for all of IBM Systems products. Joe has an extensive background in electrical power generation and distribution, and is active on several committees. Joe is chair and a voting member of International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) committee SC77A/WG1 on low frequency EMC power line emissions standards as well as voting member of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70 code making panel 12, responsible for data centers and portable, modular containers. Joe is an active contributor and a voting member of two ASHRAE committees: TC 9.9 and SSPC 90.4. Joe received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida.
