I currently serve the University as the Director of Data Center Operations & Infrastructure. In this role I am responsible for the University mission critical Data Center facilities delivering expertise which includes system/facility design to operational support through government compliance for areas such as HIPPA, FISMA, and PCI. I works closely with stakeholders to ensure 7x24 reliability to Data Center’s across campus providing expertise support assisting in the constant improvement of system hosting, colocation services, and energy efficiency to complex computing environments. My University purview extends to outsourcing strategy moving the mainframe to a hosted solution and working with campus on it’s cloud strategy finding the right technical model for business issues. Brining success and value, I lead the University Service Desk and Global Operations Center proving 24x7 monitoring, triage, mitigation, and escalation of infrastructure issues. Prior to joining the University, I was a Global Architect responsible for global infrastructure, Data Center operations, desktop, and server standards for General Motors where I developed standards and cost saving innovations in the areas of voice, video, and data networking. Previously I has served in both technical and management rolls for a major, regional bank and global consulting company delivering infrastructure design and operations solutions to resolve business issues.
