Shannon K. McClendon serves as Chairman and President of Demand Control 2, LLC. In this role, and as a co-founder of the company, she works with her business partners to bring strategic and competitive solutions to commercial and industrial consumers in competitive electric markets, with a focus on Texas. Demand Control 2, LLC is a Retail Electric Provider (REP) in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT). It also provides REP services for U.S. and Texas end-use companies to obtain renewable energy supplied from renewable generators in Texas.

Shannon is also an attorney and counselor at law, and has represented most of the stakeholders in the ERCOT electric industry working on their legal representation before the PUC, ERCOT, Texas RE, and the Texas Legislature. Mrs. McClendon was instrumental in the first successful transition to competition plan for an IOU in Texas.

Prior to becoming an attorney, she was a computer systems analyst working for NASA on the Space Transportation System Operations Contract in Houston (Clear Lake) for Shuttle systems in the Mission Control Center and Simulation Mission Systems.

Shannon has served as a Director on the ERCOT Board as well as on TAC - ERCOT’s Technical Advisory Committee for several years. She also served as the Vice-Chair of TAC.
Shannon is a Board member of the Texas Chapter of the Energy Bar Association. Shannon also serves on the Board’s Executive Committee of the Texas Business Hall of Fame. She has served as Board Secretary of the Texas Board of Professional Engineers, and was appointed to other State agencies by two Governors. She attended Texas A&M and graduated with honors from the University of Houston. She earned her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center.
