Paul Gauche, Deputy Director, Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office, US Department of Energy
Paul Gauche joined the DOE as deputy director for IEDO. In this role, Paul supports the director and is responsible for program management and policy development for IEDO together with industry, academia, and national laboratories to advance the technology and develop markets for industrial decarbonization. Previously, Paul served as founder and managing director of Stellenergy, LLC, focusing on industrial decarbonization technology development. Prior to founding his own company, Paul served as EVP at Heliogen, Inc., and also as manager of the National Solar Thermal Test Facility at Sandia National Laboratories. Paul has extensive research experience at Stellenbosch University, where he founded the Solar Thermal Energy Research Group. He has management experience from his time at Intel, as well as teaching experience at several universities.
