Casey Eldringhoff, Sr. Product Lifecycle Electrical Engineer, Amazon Web Services
Dr. Casey Eldringhoff is a 20-year veteran of the US Navy Nuclear power program, trained as an electrician. She retired from the Navy in June 2014 and went to work for the insurance company that insures all the commercial nuclear power plants across the US, Spain, and Belgium. In that role she performed engineering, risk, and project management evaluations. She started with Amazon Web Services in January 2020 as a Data Center Engineering Operations Facility Manager, responsible for the operation and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and fire/life safety systems needed to power and cool a data center. She quickly moved up to the Cluster Manager position where she led a team of 90 managers, chief engineers and technicians across 12 data centers. She recently transferred to the Electrical Solutions engineering team where she is responsible for new product development, delivery, sustainability, and training.
Casey is passionate about mentoring women in engineering and technical roles. Having stumbled into the STEM industry 30 years ago, she believes it provides immense opportunities for women, as long as the right support systems are in place. This perspective led her to conduct her doctoral research on women’s mentorship programs as a career retention tool for female STEM workers in the IT industry.
She has earned two Bachelors degrees in Psychology and Nuclear Technology, a Masters of Divinity Degree in Chaplaincy, and a Doctor of Strategic Leadership degree. In her spare time, she is an Adjunct Professor and enjoys hiking, running, scuba diving, and traveling with her family.
