Do you know how your electrical power planning for IT Equipment impacts your organization's electrical sustainability and carbon footprint? This session will cover the fundamentals of electrical power planning for IT Equipment, including 1-phase and 3-phase power. These electrical power planning concepts will be applied to rack PDU planning and include electrical sustainability considerations with real life facility-level examples. How IT equipment is assessed for carbon footprint will be discussed, including where most of the carbon emissions come from. The carbon footprint will be linked back to how important sustainability techniques are at reducing greenhouse gas emission. This session is applicable to everyone from beginner to intermediate, arming data center stakeholders with a basic understanding of electrical systems, tangible electrical sustainability actions, and an overview of carbon footprint for IT Equipment.
Takeaway
- Gain practical and useful knowledge about electrical power planning of IT equipment
- Learn simple electrical analysis and techniques that can improve electrical sustainability
- Understand carbon footprint and applicability to IT equipment in your data center
