Maintenance personnel at facilities spend most of their time “fixing stuff” to keep up with their productivity and operational metrics. On other hand, industry reports and data suggest that most of the work related injuries are directly contributed to reactive maintenance work. While qualified work force with hands-on experience is hard to find in this digital age, it has also become increasingly difficult to retain the knowledge base with high employee turnaround. This session will dive into some of the use cases where technology can really complement facility maintenance personnel to get out from their reactive mode, aka unplanned work routines and systematically transition to proactive mode with the use of new tools and technology while justifying small investments and realize incremental gains. This session will also explore some of the personnel, cultural and behavioral challenges that comes in the way of this transition and how to address them.
