The challenges today revolve around energy efficient central plant operation. Typical plant controls are predicated on set point / speed-based strategies. The optimization of a central plant requires a more complex strategy based on demand-based controls, efficiency based staging and fundamental understanding of part load operation.

The conversation of this presentation will revolve around this understanding and the application of the fundamental principles of fluid dynamics, heat transfer and thermodynamics and utilizing these principals with digitalization and demand-based controls.
