Data Center Infrastructure Management tools have been at a critical crossroads since Gartner Research abandoned their inclusion as a magic quadrant market sector and since many users have adopted a hybrid Data Center strategy that includes a mix of their own on premise, hosted facilities and cloud based applications. This hasn't diminished the need for effective Data Center Infrastructure Management, in fact, the complexity of the hybrid model elevates the need for a tool-set that can bridge management across this new hybrid model providing us details of the environment whether the assets are in our facilities or a vendors real estate portfolio. The responsibility of our applications and their supporting infrastructure still falls in our hands so the need for real-time information about the environment and where we have available capacity is now more complex so real-time monitoring that can provide us details to make informed decisions has become more critical.
