It has been a 5+ year journey. Following the path of an IT roadmap that started with migration from on-prem to co-lo, followed by the move of DR to DRaaS (Disaster recovery as a service) - implementing SaaS applications along the way, establishing a hyperscale cloud presence, and then "getting the network out of the data center" by centralizing network connectivity and access into two edge data center "POPs" (points of presence) - this journey has been one of joining what is best for the organization with what are best practices in the industry, while focusing on execution and staying ahead of customer expectations to deliver a solid customer experience.
