Listen to the story of how WWT took our own 108 cabinet data center, which had originally been scoped as a sandbox and showcase, and turned it into a facility that can host customer lab environments and look good doing so. How did we work together with IT, critical facilities, PMs, vendors, customers, and trades? How did we upgrade and replace UPSs, racks, in-rack PDUs, and overhead power bus rails, as well as add structured cabling? Hear about what worked, what didn't, and what we wish we did differently from a data center operations perspective.
Takeaway
- Tips for cross-org teamwork for all datacenter stakeholders
- Documentation and planning needed to keep major systems functional during major facility maintenance windows
- Avoidance of physical and technical debt during a large refresh project
- Insight into what worked and what didn't during a live renovation
