As the IT industry grows, we are forced to do more with less. The only way to do make that work is to use automation to allow one person to do more with less work. Sadly, the available solutions often don't fit a particular need or cost more than budgets allow. Because of this, IT professionals are being forced to learn how to program or be left behind. This session will look at some of the choices made by an experienced engineer and how they made their way (kicking and screaming) into programming. While the why of automation and programming is important, we will also spend time on the how, including learning material, how to build a lab, and what best deserves automation.
